The carpet pile needs to be running the same for both pieces.
With the carpet overlapped, you need to make a cut through both pieces of the carpet at the same time.
Make a clean cut between the rows.
Apply a strip of seaming tape with the sticky, adhesive side up on the floor where the carpet is to be joined.
Using the tape manufacturers instructions, us a seaming iron to bond the seaming tape.
Seal the seam with a carpet roller.
