pet stains in carpet::When these cleaners leave the smell of ammonia on the carpet, even a trace amount of residue, the ammonia smell resembles urine, which could cause your cat to resoil the area, leaving stains that are much worse than vomit stains!
To clean the stain, first blot up as much as you can with a soft clean cloth.
Make sure you saturate the area completely and let it air dry naturally.
Another great way to remove pet stains, after blotting, is to wet the area with water and then apply a solid coating of borax powder.
As the area dries, the borax will wick up the offending stain.
You can actually see an area the same size, shape, and color of the original stain come to the surface of the borax in a day or two!
This works for urine stains as well, and even works on mattresses.
My favorite method is to use the borax first, so the urine or other material has been mostly lifted from the carpet.
Then i vacuum the borax up after it has completely dried.
Then i do the enzyme treatment.
I feel better seeing that the stain has been physically lifted out of the carpet by the borax, and then treated with enzymes to get every last little bit!
