i shop online::Far too many players still seem to prefer to pay over the odds at golf club shops or in high street stores.
Many refuse to shop online, believing that the quality will be different, or that the products will never be delivered.
This is of course folly.
You are usually paying less due to the fact the online retailer has far fewer overheads to contend with than they would running a high street shop.
Brands are well know, so easy to spot online.
Most golfers know what clubs they like, or make of clothing they are drawn to.
I fail to see why one would have to see the products, that they are already determined to buy in hand, as opposed to online where a better price is often found.
There are so many advantages to shopping online now, and many of my golfing colleagues are beginning to take advantage of it.
Golf clubs themselves have even began to order golf trophies online over the past few years.
Because you can search many stores in a short space of time, it becomes easier to compare prices and delivery times, to make sure you get the right product at the right price.
The fact that you can compare so many different internet outlets means you are almost certainly going to get clubs or clothing cheaper than in a normal shop.
Nowadays the returns policies of internet outlets is also very good, so mistaken purchases can be rectified, usually without cost and very quickly.
There are horror stories of course.
I hear of people receiving different products to those they ordered, or not receiving anything at all.
These are few and far between.
Is it really worth spending, sometimes, a great deal more money because of someones bad luck?
I have bought many products from shops that have been faulty, or different to their descriptions, and had terrible troubles getting things returned.
One time i bought some golf shoes with two left feet, and spent two hours with the shop owner, convincing him that i had purchased them that way without knowing.
He thought i had stolen two of his shoes that were on show.
I never did get my money back through being embarrassed and leaving muttering to myself.
The risks to shopping online are so small that the better prices, and ease of purchase, make it a much better option, in my opinion, than going to a shop.
I am sure there are times when a sales assistant may be necessary and a shop the better option.
I just say make sure that it is worth spending the extra money.
